Eminent Domain
GOLDSTEIN, GOLDSTEIN, RIKON & GOTTLIEB, P.C. is a law
firm which limits its practice to condemnation law. The firm
represents a merger of two law firms, Samuel Goldstein &
Sons and Michael Rikon. Samuel Goldstein and his brother founded
the former firm in 1923. He was thereafter joined in the practice
by his sons, M.Robert and Michael J. Goldstein. Michael Rikon
has been practicing condemnation law and litigation in the
New York State Court of Claims since 1969. In July, 1994,
Samuel Goldstein and Sons and Michael Rikon, P.C. merged.
In 2000, Robert S. Gottlieb, who has been practicing eminent
domain law since 1967, joined the firm.
GOLDSTEIN, GOLDSTEIN, RIKON & GOTTLIEB, P.C. offers
its clients the opportunity to retain counsel highly
experienced in obtaining "just compensation"
for property taken in eminent domain proceedings. From
time to time the firm has also represented public bodies
or developers for whom public bodies have acted in securing
sites for development through their power of eminent
domain. The firm, its partners and its predecessors,
have, in a significant number of its cases, been retained
by referral from other law firms. An indication of the
nature and type of its cases and practice can be seen
by reference to the following listing of some of its
cases and clients. Although the list, in the main, refers
to the larger cases and the more recognized names, the
firm handles all sizes and types of cases involved in
condemnation or appropriation proceedings.
