MICHAEL RIKON

Michael Rikon has been practicing law in New York since
being admitted to the State Bar in 1969. Before forming
the firm of Goldstein, Goldstein & Rikon in 1994,
Mr. Rikon had a successful private practice, founded
in 1980, specializing in condemnation law, real estate
and litigation in the Court of Claims. From 1973 to
1980, Mr. Rikon served as a law clerk to the Honorable
Albert A. Blinder of the New York State Court of Claims.
Mr. Rikon began his law career as an Assistant Corporation
Counsel for the City of New York, a position he held
from 1969 to 1973, where he was a senior trial attorney
in the Condemnation Division.
Michael Rikon is active in the New York legal community.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, and
a member of the Condemnation Committee of the Section of
Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, the Association
of Trial Lawyers of America, the New York State Bar
Association where he serves on the Special Committee
of Condemnation Law, the New York County Lawyers Association
where he chairs the Condemnation Committee, and serves on the Judiciary Committee, the Association
of the Bar of the City of New York, the Condemnation
Conference and the Suffolk County Bar Association. Mr.
Rikon also contributes to professional journals in subjects
related to the practice of condemnation law. In 1973
and 1974, Mr. Rikon was a special consultant to the
New York State Commission on Eminent Domain and assisted
in drafting New York's Eminent Domain Procedure Law.
He is Special Condemnation Counsel to the Town of East
Hampton, the Town of Southampton, the Town of Southold
and other municipal bodies.
He is listed in Who's Who in American Law (3rd to 12th
eds), Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in the World.
He is rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been listed in "Best Lawyers in America" for condemnation and eminent domain cases.
Michael Rikon is a frequent lecturer on the Law of
Eminent Domain and Electromagnetic Field Real Property
Devaluation Law. He is the New York State designated
Eminent Domain Attorney for Owners Counsel of America.
Mr. Rikon has been active in public and charitable
activities. He has served as President of the Village
Greens Home-Owners Association, Chairman of the Board
of the Arden Heights Jewish Center, and President of
the North Shore Republican Club. He has also served
on the Zoning Committee of his Community Board.
Mr. Rikon received his B.S. from the New York Institute
of Technology, his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and
a Masters of Law from New York University Law School.
He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Leslie.
